We head into the third week of IPL 2026, and all eyes will once again be fixated on the young sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi as the Rajasthan Royals (RR) make a trip to Hyderabad to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
RR have been at their dominating best, having recorded four wins in as many outings and sitting comfortably at the top of the points table. SRH, though, have been far from convincing, managing one win in four matches.
While RR would look to add a fifth win in a row, SRH wouldn’t want their two-match losing streak to grow any further.

Four of the most destructive openers of IPL 2026 will be in action today.
While Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have failed to reprise their IPL 2024 form, Sooryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal are threatening to break the records set by the SRH opening combo two years ago. This includes the highest powerplay score of 125 that Travi-Shek plundered against Delhi a couple of seasons ago.
Sooryavanshi is on a hot streak right now, having hammered the bowling attacks of CSK, GT, MI, and RCB. SRH’s bowling attack is certainly weaker compared to those four teams. The youngster could have another happy-hunting game tonight.

SRH vs RR: Is Pat Cummins Playing Today?
No, Cummins is still not available to play in the IPL. About 10 days ago, he flew back to Australia for final scans on his back injury. If cleared, he is expected to join SRH’s squad on April 17. However, Cummins is not likely to feature in the IPL until at least the last week of April.
Cummins had said last month, “If nothing goes wrong, (I’ll) play the back half (of the IPL) plus the finals.”
Before returning to Australia, Cummins had also told the Business of Sports podcast, “I’m back bowling. I’m bowling basically every third day at the moment. We’ve mapped out a plan to get me right by (the) middle of the tournament.”

Riyan Parag has won the toss and elected to bowl first. Ishan Kishan, the SRH skipper, also revealed two changes: Harshal Patel and Jaydev Unadkat have been dropped, replaced by Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain.
Its impact on the match is that RR now have themselves in an advantageous position. They have an in-form, explosive batting order, and SRH’s bowling has been their weakness.
