Stock Market Closed: Sensex rises 109 points in volatile trading, Nifty strong; Know the condition of the market

Mumbai. After day-long fluctuations in major indices in the domestic stock markets on Thursday, BSE Sensex closed at 77,100.47 points with a gain of 109.25 points (0.14 percent). The Nifty-50 index of the National Stock Exchange also closed at 24,056 points with a gain of 34.35 points or 0.14 percent. Both major indices have strengthened for the second consecutive day. Sensex started with a gain of 400 points at 77,391 points. By afternoon it had reached 77,803 points.

However, due to selling pressure in the macro market, it later fell to 76,993 points. Thus, a fluctuation of 810 points was seen in it. There was a decline in the macro market. Nifty Midcap-50 index fell 0.58 percent and Smallcap-100 index fell 0.47 percent. Companies in IT, metals, pharma, consumer durables, chemicals and oil and gas sectors remained under pressure. Indices of auto, FMCG, banking and realty groups remained bullish.

Among Sensex companies, shares of airline company Indiga rose by nearly five percent. Shares of Mahindra and Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki gained between three and a half to four percent. State Bank of India and ICICI Bank had a rise of one percent each. Shares of Hindustan Unilever, Kotak Mahindra Bank, L&T, HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries also closed higher.

Power Grid’s shares fell by more than two and a quarter percent. Shares of BEL, Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Bajaj Finance and HCL Technologies fell more than one percent. Shares of Asian Paints, Adani Ports, Bajaj Finserv, Trent, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, Titan, TCS, Axis Bank and Eternal also closed down.
