Stock market closed: Stock markets returned bullish, Sensex rose 130 points; Know the condition of Nifty

Mumbai. Domestic stock markets regained momentum on Wednesday due to gains in banking and financial companies and BSE Sensex rose 130.49 points (0.17 percent) to 77,185.43 points. Recovering from the previous trading day’s decline, the Nifty-50 index of the National Stock Exchange closed at 24,078.50 points with a gain of 26.45 points or 0.11 percent. The macro market also witnessed a rise. Nifty Midcap-50 index was up 0.27 percent and Smallcap-100 index was up 0.67 percent.

Banking, finance, oil and gas, consumer durables, auto, pharma, health and chemicals sectors were bullish. Indices of metal, IT, FMCG, media and realty groups fell. Shares of 18 out of 30 Sensex companies remained in the green. Eternal’s shares gained three percent. Shares of UltraTech Cement rose by three and a half percent.

Shares of State Bank of India, Bajaj Finance, Indigo, Asian Paints and Tech Mahindra strengthened by one to one and a half percent. Shares of HDFC Bank, Sun Pharma, Maruti Suzuki, ICICI Bank, Adani Ports Reliance Industries and ITC also rose. Shares of Power Grid, L&T, Tata Steel, Infosys and NTPC fell by one to two and a quarter percent. Shares of Bajaj Finserv, Hindustan Unilever, Bharti Airtel, TCS, Axis Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra also remained in the red.
