New Delhi: The domestic stock market traded with a volatile trend during the early hours of today. Trading started on a positive note.
After the market opened, both the Sensex and Nifty indices started fluctuating as buyers and sellers started trying to dominate each other.
After the first hour of trading, the Sensex was trading 0.17 percent higher and the Nifty 0.02 percent higher. The BSE Sensex opened today at 78,782.43, up 201.43 points, or 0.26 percent.
As trading began, a tug-of-war between bulls and bears began, causing the index to fluctuate. Supported by buying, the Sensex jumped to 78,841.43.
On the other hand, selling pressure led to a drop to 78,633.73. The only relief was that despite the selling pressure, the index continued to trade in the green.
After the first hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, the Sensex was trading at 78,717.39 points with a gain of 136.39 points at 10:15 am.
Like Sensex, NSE’s Nifty also started trading today at the level of 24,641 points with a rise of 16.35 points i.e. 0.07 percent.
After the market opened, buyers and sellers started trying to dominate each other, due to which the movement of this index also started going up and down.
The Nifty rose to 24,665.05 on buying support, but also fell into the red to 24,604.15 as selling pressure built up.
After the initial one hour of trading amid continuous buying and selling in the market, at 10:15 am, Nifty was trading at 24,628.35 points with a symbolic strength of 3.70 points.
So far, 2,825 stocks were actively trading in the stock market. Of these, 1,706 were trading in the green, posting gains, while 1,119 were trading in the red, posting losses. Similarly, 14 of the 30 Sensex stocks remained in the green, supported by buying interest.
On the other hand, 16 stocks were trading in the red under selling pressure. Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 18 were trading in the green and 32 in the red.
After the first hour of trading, shares of stock market giants Shriram Finance, Eternal, Reliance Industries, Titan Company and Cipla were trading with gains ranging from 2.15 per cent to 1.69 per cent.
On the other hand, shares of Power Grid Corporation, Trent Limited, ONGC, NTPC and HCL Technologies were seen trading with a decline of 2.75 per cent to 0.84 per cent.
On Wednesday, the previous trading day, the Sensex gained 152.05 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 78,581. The Nifty gained 9.75 points, or 0.04 percent, to close at 24,624.65.
