‘Stop dreaming’, Kim’s country taunts America about denuclearization
No matter what happens, North Korea will never give up its nuclear weapons. President Kim Jong-un’s sister Kim Yoo-jung made this clear on Sunday, warning America. He referred to the US efforts to denuclearize as a very old unrealized dream. Yoo Jung quips, “Stop dreaming.”
In a statement issued on Sunday, Kim’s sister Yo Jong said, ‘North Korea will increase its nuclear arsenal as much as the US threatens. North Korea is a nuclear power, so America cannot order us to give up our nuclear weapons. It has no legal basis.’ Yo Jong’s statement came at a time when Chinese President Xi Jinping is visiting North Korea on Monday after 7 years. He will meet with Kim Jong Un during this visit. In addition, Kim’s sister claimed that Trump’s claims after his visit to China last month were completely false.
“America is still far from reality. They still can’t let go of their old dreams,” Yeo Jung said.
US President Donald Trump visited Beijing last month. He met Chinese President Xi Jinping there. After that, the White House claimed that China and America will work towards the denuclearization of North Korea. In response to this claim, Yeo Jung said, “America is still far from the real situation. They still cannot give up their old dreams.”
It should be noted that US President Trump and Kim Jong Un met in Washington in 2019 with the aim of denuclearization. But in the end the discussion collapsed. Since then, North Korea has greatly expanded its nuclear and missile programs. On the other hand, economic sanctions have been imposed on the country for many years. In this situation, North Korea wants other countries and international organizations to recognize it as a nuclear power country.
