New Delhi:The weather across the country has taken a sudden turn and the mood has completely changed in the beginning of May itself. While on one hand there was expectation of intense heat, now rain, strong winds and thunderstorms have given a different direction to the situation. In many states, storms and hailstorms have brought relief as well as worry to people.
According to the latest forecast of India Meteorological Department, the weather may worsen in the coming days. There is a possibility of winds blowing at a speed of 40 to 70 kilometers per hour, lightning and hail in many areas. This situation can have the biggest impact on farmers, travelers and people working outdoors.
Many weather systems became the reason
Many active systems are responsible for this ongoing weather change in the country. The cyclonic circulation over western Rajasthan and Haryana and the active western disturbance in North India have combined to make the weather unstable.
Apart from this, moisture coming from the Bay of Bengal is increasing the rainfall in Eastern and Central India, due to which an alert has been issued in 17 states simultaneously.
Danger of strong winds, rain and hailstorm
According to the Meteorological Department, during this period the wind speed can reach 40 to 70 km per hour. There is a possibility of lightning and hailstorm in many areas, which may affect crops, traffic and normal life.
However, due to the drop in temperature, people will definitely get relief from heat and heat wave.
U-turn of weather in Delhi-NCR
There is a possibility of complete change in the weather in Delhi-NCR on 4th and 5th May. An alert has been issued for strong storm and rain, due to which the weather may remain unstable for two days.
Wind speed can reach 40 to 50 km per hour and dust storm can occur at many places. There will be light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, due to which the temperature may drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.
Alert in Uttar Pradesh
The effect of weather will be clearly visible in the next 48 hours in Uttar Pradesh. Storm and rain are expected in many districts including Meerut, Agra, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Prayagraj and Kanpur.
There is a possibility of falling trees and power disruption due to strong winds, while there is also a danger of hailstorm and lightning in some areas.

Alert of heavy rain and storm has been issued in areas like Gaya, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga and Purnia of Bihar.
Here the wind speed can go up to 50 to 60 km per hour, due to which life can be affected. There is also a possibility of increase in incidents of lightning strikes.
Weather changed in Rajasthan
There is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain in Sikar, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Barmer of Rajasthan. Due to the effect of western disturbance, dust storm and light rain can be seen.
A drop of 2 to 3 degrees in temperature will provide relief to people from the heat, although this relief may be temporary.
Alert in Punjab also
Rain with strong winds is forecast in Amritsar, Ludhiana, Mohali, Bathinda and Patiala of Punjab.
Winds can blow at a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour, due to which there is a possibility of damage to crops and impact on power supply.
Active weather in Madhya Pradesh
There is a possibility of thunderstorm and rain in Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Indore of Madhya Pradesh between May 3 and 5.
There is a possibility of hailstorm and lightning in some areas, which may cause damage to crops.
Impact in Uttarakhand and Himachal
Rain and hailstorm are expected in Dehradun, Nainital and Haridwar of Uttarakhand, while there may be snowfall in the hilly areas.
There is a possibility of storm, rain and hailstorm in Shimla, Mandi and Kangra of Himachal Pradesh, due to which the temperature will fall.

Continuous heavy rains are likely to continue in Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Nagaland and Meghalaya.
Due to strong winds of 60 to 70 km per hour and continuous rain, the risk of floods and landslides has increased.
Impact in South India also
There is a possibility of thunderstorm and moderate rain in Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Due to strong winds and rain in coastal areas, marine activities may be affected, due to which fishermen have been advised to remain alert.
