Strength test will be held in Bihar on 24th April, Samrat Chaudhary will prove majority
Sanjay Singh, Patna. The politics of Bihar is once again at a crucial juncture. The real test of the new government is going to be in the special session of the Assembly called on April 24. On this day, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will prove his government’s majority by presenting a trust vote in the House. An official notification regarding the session has been issued by the Assembly Secretariat, according to which the proceedings will start at 11 am. This is the first special session after the formation of the new government, hence it is being considered very important in political circles.
Trust vote is an important tool of the democratic system, through which it is decided whether the government has sufficient support of the MLAs or not. Usually it is brought to the House on the instructions of the Governor and the government has to prove majority within the stipulated time. This process becomes especially necessary when a new government is formed or questions are raised on the majority of the existing government. If the government fails to win the trust vote, it has to resign, meaning power can slip out of its hands.
