New Delhi, Read: Amidst the horrific tragedy in Nepal, a strong earthquake occurred in the neighboring country China on Friday. The earth also shook in Manipur, the north-eastern state of India. A strong earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale was felt in China's Sichuan province today i.e. on Friday. Being adjacent to the Nepal border, the tremors of this earthquake badly frightened the people living in the border areas.
On the other hand, earthquake tremors were also felt in Manipur, India today, the intensity of which was measured at 3.6 on the Richter scale. The fortunate thing is that at present there has been no news of any loss of life or property or major devastation from both the places.
Disaster management teams are continuously monitoring the situation.
The land of Sichuan trembles near the Nepal border.
According to meteorologists, the epicenter of this earthquake that occurred in China's Sichuan province was at a low depth underground, due to which the tremors were very strong. As soon as the earth shook, people started running out of their homes and offices towards open fields in panic. In view of the recent devastation in Nepal, there was an atmosphere of panic among the people for some time. The administration has issued an alert in the affected areas for security reasons.
