If you too have been planning to attend the court of Maa Vaishno Devi for a long time, but are not able to make the plan due to office holidays or busy lifestyle, then this special news is only for you. Many people think that at least 4 to 5 days are required to visit Maa Vaishno Devi, situated on Trikuta Mountain, but the truth is that with a very well-planned manner, you can visit Maa in just a 2-day weekend and return back safely. To complete this divine journey in less time and limited budget, it is very important to have a perfect travel plan. Let us know the easiest route to reach Katra from Delhi or any corner of the country, climb the building and come back, time management and complete account of total expenditure per person. Start of the first day; Delhi to Katra train and necessary procedure of RFID card: To make this short and quick plan of 2 days successful, you will have to start your journey a night before i.e. on Friday night. From Delhi, superfast trains like New Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express or Uttar Sampark Kranti are the best option, which take you to the holy city of Katra early in the morning. The first and most important thing to do as soon as you land at Katra Railway Station is to collect your RFID travel card, without which you are not allowed to board the train. After this you can freshen up by taking a budget hotel near the station or in Katra Bazaar. On the first day, between 9 am to 10 am, you should start your climb to the main building from Banganga check post on foot or via mule/palanquin. The total distance from Katra to the main building is about 12 to 13 kilometers. During the climb, the first temple that comes on the way is Ardhkuwari. Since you are short on time, take a token as soon as you start the climb to visit the Garbhajuna Cave. If the waiting time is long, plan a return visit and head straight to the building. You will easily reach Mata’s house by 5 to 6 pm. After freshening up there, stand in line for the divine darshan of the sacred natural bodies of Mata Vaishno Devi. After the night aarti or simple darshan, you can rest in the dormitory or room of the Shrine Board on the building itself, advance booking of which is very important. Darshan of Bhairav Baba on the second day and the fastest and easiest way to return to Katra. According to the scriptures, the journey of Maa Vaishno Devi is considered incomplete until you have darshan of Bhairav Baba. Waking up early in the morning of the second day, you will have to climb the Bhairav Valley, about 3 kilometers high from the building. To save time, you can use the ropeway that runs from Bhawan to Bhairav Baba, which takes you to the top in just 3 minutes and its ticket is also very economical. After darshan of Bhairav Baba, you start descending back down to Katra by 10 am. You will reach back to Katra by 3 to 4 pm, where after some rest and shopping, you can catch a night train or flight and return to work the next morning. How much will the trip cost and what things should be kept in mind while booking? If we talk about budget, then this 2-day trip can be very pocket-friendly. If you travel by sleeper or third AC of the train and choose a general budget hotel in Katra, the total cost per person will be around Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,500.
