New Delhi. Giving relief to Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, the Supreme Court on Monday asked the Allahabad High Court not to take action against the Congress leader in the case of assets disproportionate to known sources of income. The apex court also asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) not to file any report before the High Court regarding the case registered against Gandhi.
A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi and Justice V. Mohana considered the arguments of senior advocate Kapil Sibal, appearing for Gandhi, and Karnataka resident S., who had filed the petition in the CBI, ED and the High Court. Notice issued to Vignesh Shishir. The bench was hearing the petition filed by Gandhi against the order of Allahabad High Court.
