New Delhi, 09 October 2026: The Supreme Court has dismissed a petition demanding complete freedom to the Delhi Police in dealing with the protesters. The court had clearly said that in such matters it is very important to keep in mind the future of the youth and students.
During the hearing of the case, the bench led by Chief Justice (CJI) Surya Kant made an important remark emphasizing on the future of the youth. The court observed, “These young students and protestors are before us.”
What did the court say?
The Supreme Court further observed that we must also consider his parents and the long life they have ahead of them; They should not unnecessarily get entangled in court proceedings and legal proceedings.
'No leniency for serious crimes'
However, during the hearing, the Supreme Court had also made it clear that legal action will continue against persons accused of being notorious criminals or accused of serious crimes.
