Movement intensifies in Maharashtra
After this conversation, many kinds of speculations are being made in the politics of Maharashtra. After this conversation, those speculations got more fuel in which it was being claimed that both the factions of NCP will unite and the clan of NDA will grow. In 2013, Sharad Pawar's nephew Ajit Pawar rebelled along with many party MLAs and joined the BJP-Shiv Sena government. After this NCP divided into two parts. The Election Commission considered Ajit Pawar's faction as the real NCP, while Sharad Pawar's faction got the name NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar). After this both the groups are part of different alliances.

Why is this discussion happening now?
In recent times, once again the stir regarding the merger of the two groups has increased. Some senior leaders of the Ajit Pawar faction had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. In this meeting, the ongoing differences within the party and the coming together of both the groups were discussed. However, Ajit Pawar's wife Sunetra Pawar and his son Parth Pawar were not present in the meeting. After this, NCP's core committee meeting was held in Mumbai. Maharashtra party president Sunil Tatkare clearly said that at present no decision has been taken to merge with Sharad Pawar's faction. He also said that the party will work under the leadership of Sunetra Pawar.
Let us tell you that even before Ajit Pawar's death in the plane crash, there was talk of merger of the two groups. It was being claimed that final talks had taken place on the merger of the two groups. However, this development changed after his death and Sunetra Pawar became the Deputy CM of Maharashtra in place of Ajit. After this, once again the discussion of merger between the two groups intensified.
