Two Youths Paraded With Slipper Garlands Over Theft Allegations in Surajpur: An incident that puts humanity to shame has come to light from Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh. Here, two youths were given such punishment on charges of theft that everyone was surprised to see it. The villagers put a garland of shoes and slippers around the neck of both the youths and paraded them around the village. During this, alleged stolen goods were also loaded on his hands and back. Police swung into action after the video of the incident went viral on social media. The matter is being reported from Chhindiya village of Ramanujnagar police station area.
According to the information, Dhansai (35) and Mukesh (25), residents of the village, do farming work. Both of them were accused of stealing a submersible pump from the farm. Villagers claim that both were allegedly caught red handed. After this the villagers took the law into their own hands.
Both the youth were publicly humiliated. He was taken around the village with a garland of shoes and slippers around his neck. Someone present nearby made a video of this entire incident, which is now going viral on social media.

After the video surfaced, the matter reached the police administration. The victimized youth have lodged a complaint with the police. The police have registered an FIR and got both of them medically examined.

SDOP Surajpur Abhishek Paikra said that the matter is being investigated. If the investigation confirms beatings and inhuman treatment, then strict legal action will be taken against the culprits. He clearly said that those who take law into their own hands will not be spared at any cost.
It is noteworthy that this is the second such incident in Ramanujnagar area within a month. Earlier in Pasta village also, on suspicion of theft, a young man had half his head shaved and was paraded around the village with a garland of shoes around his neck. During that time the young man and his wife were also beaten up.
