Suspicious death of doctor in Nagpur’s famous Neuron Hospital, injections found in cabin; Fear of overdose created panic

Dhantoli police have registered accidental death (ADR) in this case and started investigation. The actual cause of death will be revealed only after the post-mortem report and forensic investigation.

After completing the work, he went for rest and did not come out again.

According to the information, Dr. Ishwarchandra Chandewar was an Ayurvedic doctor and was working as a medical officer in Neuron Hospital. On Monday morning, he reached the hospital as usual and completed his regular responsibilities including examining patients.

After the work was over he went to his cabin to rest. When he did not come out even after a long time, the hospital staff knocked on the door, but got no response from inside. This made the employees suspicious and they immediately informed the police.

Police broke the door and entered

On receiving the information, Dhantoli police reached the spot. After much effort, when the door of the cabin was opened, the doctor was found inside in an unconscious state. Upon immediate investigation his death was confirmed.

During the search of the incident site, some injections were also found in the cabin. On the basis of these injections, the possibility of overdose is being raised at the initial level. However, police say that it is too early to reach any conclusion.

Awaiting post mortem report

Police have sent the doctor’s body for post-mortem. Also, the injection and other evidence found from the spot have been seized for investigation. According to officials, only after the post-mortem and forensic reports come, it will be clear whether the death occurred due to natural causes, due to drug overdose or there is some other reason behind it.

There is deep mourning among the doctors, staff and patients of the hospital due to the sudden demise of Dr. Ishwarchandra Chandewar.
