Suvendu Adhikari targets CJP, accuses Mamata

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari targeted the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ and ‘Tukde-Tukde Gang’ in Tamluk. He appealed to the people to support Prime Minister Modi. Also made serious allegations against the previous government of Mamata Banerjee.

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has made controversial remarks on the ‘Cockroach Janata Party’ (CJP) and some groups protesting against the government. On Monday, October 26, he asked people not to allow ‘mindless Naxals’, ‘tukde-tukde gangs’ and cockroaches to flourish. Along with this he appealed to stand with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Chief Minister also raised questions on the policies of former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party Trinamool Congress (TMC).

Suvendu Adhikari had reached the bhoomi pujan program of BJP’s new party office in Tamluk in East Medinipur district on Monday. He gave this statement while talking to journalists after the program. This is the second time in the last two days that he has targeted opposition groups using the word ‘cockroach’.

Cockroaches and bedbugs were mentioned on Sunday also

Earlier on Sunday, October 25, during a program in Ramnagar, Suvendu Adhikari had criticized the opposition groups by giving the examples of cockroaches, bedbugs and corona virus.

He had said that some evils are trying to spread like cockroaches and bedbugs. In the context of dealing with these, he also mentioned the insecticide spray ‘Hit’.

The Chief Minister had made this comment while talking about increasing the spirit of nationalism and patriotism in educational institutions. He said that speech, quiz and debate competitions should be held every year in schools and colleges.

Mamata Banerjee accused of creating Greater Bangladesh

Suvendu Adhikari also made many allegations against Mamata Banerjee’s previous government. He said that under the rule of Trinamool Congress, appeasement politics was practiced and attempts were made to harm the cultural identity of Bengal.

The Chief Minister alleged that Mamata Banerjee was working towards making the state ‘Greater Bangladesh’. He mentioned a separate song, flag and ‘Jai Bangla’ slogan for the state.

However, he did not present proof of any such plan of Mamata government. This is his political charge. The official said that there is a need to save the language, culture and old traditions of Bengal. According to him, the present government of the state will work in this direction.

Questions were also raised on the governance of leftists and TMC

Suvendu Adhikari also targeted the Left parties which ruled West Bengal for a long time. He said that the 34-year-old Left government and then the Trinamool Congress, which was in power for about 15 years, weakened the heritage of Bengal.

The Chief Minister alleged that the previous governments did not give enough importance to the subjects related to the history and culture of the state.

He said that changes will be seen in the curriculum of schools in the state from the next academic session. He also reiterated the need to implement the National Education Policy in Bengal.

What allegations should be made against Mamta government regarding NCC?

Suvendu Adhikari also criticized the previous TMC government regarding the National Cadet Corps (NCC). His allegation was that the Mamata government had tried to stop the enrollment of students in NCC in educational institutions.

He said that the government started ‘Jai Hind Vahini’ in its place. According to the official, students taking training in NCC could get help in getting recruited in the army as Agniveer.

However, the allegation of stopping enrollment in NCC has not been independently confirmed.

What is Cockroach Janata Party?

Cockroach Janata Party i.e. CJP was started as a satirical student movement in May 2026. Later a large number of students and youth joined it.

This organization had protested against the central government in the NEET-UG paper leak case. In June and July, students staged continuous protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Their main demand was the resignation of the then Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

On July 25, Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from his post. After this the organization had announced to end its 36-day agitation at Jantar Mantar.

CJP became active again on the issue of voter list

In October the Cockroach Janata Party launched a protest over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. The organization demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and an independent inquiry into the allegations of deletion of names from the voter list.

People associated with CJP demonstrated in many cities including Mumbai and Delhi. The organization says that the process of improving the voter list should be fair and the voting rights of any eligible person should not be affected. Amidst this movement, Suvendu Adhikari has commented on CJP and other opposition groups.

At present, along with his comments, the allegations made regarding the tenure of Mamata Banerjee government are in discussion. Check official statements and updates from reliable news sources for further responses from the Bengal government and related organizations.
