Suvendu Adhikari’s PA shot dead, incident took place in Madhyamgram
Amidst the celebration of the change of power in West Bengal and the historic victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a sensational incident of violence has shaken the state. Chandranath, personal assistant (PA) of Suvendu Adhikari, a senior BJP leader and key face of the newly elected government, was shot dead in Madhyamgram in North 24 Parganas district.
It is being told that the attackers targeted him from very close range and fired three bullets, which hit him in the head, chest and leg. The incident occurred at a time when the political atmosphere in the state is already tense after the recently held assembly elections. BJP had registered a big victory in the elections by winning 207 seats out of 294, after which there has been a change of power in the state.

Chandranath died on the spot
According to initial information, the attackers arrived suddenly and fired at Chandranath from very close range. He died on the spot as soon as he was shot. After the incident, there was chaos in the area and the local people immediately informed the police. Police reached the spot and started investigation.
After the incident, there is an atmosphere of panic in Madhyamgram and surrounding areas. People are scared about this incident. Police have increased security and patrolling has been intensified in the area. Officials say that efforts are being made to get to the bottom of the matter soon.

The name of Suvendu Adhikari is being mentioned at the forefront. Apart from this, names of State President Samik Bhattacharya, Union Ministers Sukant Majumdar and Swapan Dasgupta are also included in the race for Chief Minister.
