Sweden, not Singapore, has world’s most powerful passport in new ranking
Sweden comes in 11th on the mobility index, ninth in investment, and second in quality of life, according to the ranking released annually by residency and citizenship planning advisory firm Global Citizen Solutions.
The nine most powerful passports in the world in 2026 are all European, with Switzerland ranked second, followed by Finland.
“Europe’s dominance of the Global Passport Index is total at the top, and it is built on balance, not on any single strength,” Patricia Casaburi, CEO at Global Citizen Solutions, said as quoted by EuroNews.

Singapore, despite ranking 115th for quality of life, secured 10th place overall thanks to its top rankings in both mobility and investment.
The Southeast Asian city state was earlier ranked with the world’s most powerful passport with visa-free access to 192 destinations in the 2026 Henley Passport Index, the biggest and most well-known passport ranking, released quarterly based on how many visa-free entries each passport grants its holder.

2. Switzerland
3. Finland
4. Germany
5. Netherlands
6. Denmark
7. Ireland
