Famous Tamil rapper and lyricist Arivu was taken into custody by the police during a protest in Chennai on Tuesday demanding abolition of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). However, after his release a few hours later, he met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay. After both these incidents, Arivu has once again come into the limelight.
According to the information, Arivu tried to protest outside the Secretariat in Chennai without permission. During this time he was raising slogans of abolishing NEET. Seeing the protest, the police took Arivu and four other people present with him into custody. In the video viral on social media, the police is seen seating him in the vehicle, while he is seen continuously repeating the demand of abolishing NEET.

Met the Chief Minister after detention
Shortly after the police action, Arivu reached Tamil Nadu Secretariat, where he met Chief Minister Joseph Vijay. According to media reports, as soon as the Chief Minister received the news of Arivu’s detention, he asked police officials to bring him to his office. However, complete information about the conversation that took place between the two has not been revealed yet.

Arivu is not only a rapper but also a famous lyricist and singer of Tamil film industry. He lent his voice to the superhit song Vaathi Raid from actor Vijay’s film Master. Apart from this, he is also associated with the song Thalapathy Kacheri of Vijay’s upcoming film Jana Nayagan. Along with his art, Arivu is also known for his outspoken opinions on social and political issues.
