Taste of UP’s Dussehri reaches Nepal, first consignment of 10 tonnes of mangoes leaves from Lakhimpur Kheri

Lucknow, Read: Export of mangoes started from Nepal on Monday through Mango Pack House operated in Rehman Kheda, Lucknow. Bahraich exporter Sharafat Hussain sent 10 tonnes of Palia mango of Lakhimpur Kheri to Nepal late night after getting it processed in a pack house. However, this time due to storm and rain, Malihabadi Dussehri could not be prepared on time and the export got delayed.

Exporter Sharafat Hussain told that when Dussehri mangoes were ready in Palia fruit belt, he purchased 10 tonnes and got the first consignment sent to Nepal after getting hot water treatment done in Mango Pack House. Mango is sold at Rs 40 per kg. Mango is not ready in Malihabad and its adjoining fruit belt. Which will send the second consignment to Nepal upon arrival. Pack House operator Amit Aggarwal said that mangoes are not ready in other places including Lucknow. Due to this, exports to other countries including Gulf countries have been delayed. Exporters have placed orders for processing. When mangoes arrive in a day or two, export will start from June 5.

Ripe mango from branch also got delayed

This time even ripe mangoes from Dal did not come in the market since June 1. Dussehri was not ready in other areas including Malihabad, Mal, Kakori, BKT. Whereas from June 1, mangoes start selling in the market and buyers from outside states start selling them. There was silence on the commission agents inside Malihabad Highway and Vishisht Mandi, while the commission agents had made full preparations for the purchase. Only one or two carat mangoes were available.

Illegal mango market not removed from highway

The illegal mango market was completely set up on the Hardoi-Lucknow highway in Malihabad. Some commission agents have also started business. There is a constant flow of vehicles. This causes jam. Despite all the efforts and warnings from the administration and the market committee, the brokers have not removed the market from the highway and are completely ready to do business. The administration has been trying for many years to remove illegal markets. An air-conditioned specialized market worth crores was also created for business. Licenses, shops and tin sheds have been given. Still the business will be done from the highway.
