The grand stage of ‘Vishwa Yogasana’ will be set up in Ahmedabad: America’s 11-member team will show its strength in the first World Championship; More than 60 countries will be involved

New York: America’s yoga team will participate in the first World Yoga Championship to be held in Ahmedabad from June 4 to 8. According to the release of the American Yoga Association (USYA), the American Yoga Sports Federation (USISF) has prepared this team in collaboration with USYA and World Yoga.

Let us tell you that Balwinder Singh, founder and president of American Yoga Association and USYSF, will lead the 11-member American team. The team for the championship to be held in India was selected on the basis of quarterfinal trials in Connecticut in April. The age of the players included in the team is between 10 to 55 years and they will compete in competitions of different age groups. Members of the US Yogasan team visited the Indian Consulate in New York last week and met with Vice Consul Vishal Harsh ahead of their visit to India. The Consulate wished the players success in the championship.

Players from more than 60 countries will participate

Players from more than 60 countries are likely to participate in this competition. The release said, “This championship will play an important role in promoting unity, health and cultural exchange at the international level and establishing Yogasana as a globally recognized competitive sport.” Competitors in this championship will participate in seven official Yogasana categories, including artistic and rhythmic yoga categories. In this, players will be evaluated on the basis of strength, flexibility, balance, stamina and accuracy under global standardized judging criteria.
