Tata EV: Iconic electric SUV Sierra will be launched on June 30, know the price and features

Tata EV: Tata Motors is going to launch its iconic Sierra in the Indian market in a new electric avatar. The company will unveil the Tata Sierra EV on Tuesday (June 30). Before the launch, there is a lot of excitement among the customers about this electric SUV. The new Sierra EV will come with long range, strong performance, advanced safety technology and premium features. Let us know its possible price, range and other special features.

Many battery pack options can be found
The new Tata Sierra EV will be based on the company’s state-of-the-art acti.ev+ platform. According to media reports, it may have 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery pack options, while some reports have also suggested the possibility of a 55 kWh battery pack.

Once fully charged, this electric SUV can give a driving range of about 420 to 500 kilometers. With the help of fast charging technology, the battery can be fully charged in about 6 hours.

Both RWD and AWD options will be available
The new Sierra EV is expected to be offered in rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations. Its top variant will come with a dual-motor setup, which can generate more than 260 bhp power and up to 504 Nm torque. This will enable the SUV to deliver better acceleration and stronger off-road capability.

You will get modern look with retro design
In terms of design, the new Sierra EV will come with modern styling while maintaining its old identity. Design elements like closed front grille, new bumper and signature wrap-around rear glass can be seen in it.

Due to the acti.ev+ platform, the cabin will have a flat floor, giving passengers more legroom and headroom. The SUV will be given a 5-seater layout.

Triple screen and premium features
The new Sierra EV is likely to get a triple-screen setup on the dashboard. Apart from this, features like ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, JBL premium sound system, wireless charging and connected car technology will make it a premium electric SUV.

Along with this, V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) technology can also be available, with the help of which external electronic devices can be charged from the vehicle’s battery.

Special focus will be on safety features
Tata Motors is known for its strong safety and the same is expected from the Sierra EV. It is likely to get advanced driver assistance features like 6 airbags, 360-degree camera, disc brakes on all wheels, electronic parking brake and level-2+ ADAS. The SUV is also expected to achieve a 5-star safety rating in the India NCAP crash test.

Potential price and competition
The estimated ex-showroom price of the new Tata Sierra EV could be between Rs 20 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. After launch, it will compete with Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6 and other premium electric SUVs in this segment.
