TATA Motors: Big update regarding the launch of Sierra, EV avatar will come in the second half of FY27

TATA Motors: The country’s leading auto company Tata Motors is preparing to launch the iconic SUV Sierra in the Indian market in a new avatar. The company has now officially confirmed that Tata Sierra EV will be launched in the second quarter of FY 2026-27 i.e. between July to September 2026. The new Sierra EV is being considered as one of the most important electric SUVs of the company. This model will carry forward the legacy of the 90s Sierra with modern design and advanced technology.

Design and features will be special
A mix of retro and modern design will be seen in the new Tata Sierra EV. The SUV may get EV-specific elements like signature Alpine glass design, full-LED lighting, connected DRLs and closed front grille. Talking about the interior, it can be given premium features like triple-screen setup, large touchscreen infotainment unit, digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats and level-2 ADAS.

Single and dual motor options possible
According to reports, Tata Sierra EV can be offered in both single motor and dual motor AWD options. The company can provide long driving range and fast charging technology in it. It is believed that its range could be more than 500 km.

How much could the price be?
Although the company has not yet disclosed the official price, it is believed in the auto industry that the starting price of Tata Sierra EV can be between Rs 18 lakh to Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

Will compete with these SUVs
Once launched in the Indian market, Tata Sierra EV will compete with Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti e Vitara and many upcoming mid-size electric SUVs.
