Tata Motors launched the Sierra.EV in India on June 30, 2026. At the launch event, the manufacturer showcased several product films showing different aspects of the vehicle. One of them showed the Sierra’s massive luggage space. It shows 25 cabin bags being unloaded from the Sierra.EV.
Let’s start by discussing the Sierra.EV’s TV commercial (TVC) showing its luggage capacity. It opens by showing a Sierra.EV driving into a clean studio setting. Its driver, a young, charismatic woman, gets out and opens the tailgate. The Sierra.EV is for the younger folks- something that the 0-100 kph sprint time of 5.8 seconds of its All Wheel Drive variants, is very vocal about.
The Sierra.EV’s powered tailgate opens. We can see that the vehicle is full with cabin bags. The lady then unloads them one by one. From what is shown in the video, these are all Mokobara’s 40-litre cabin bags, each of which has a height of a little over 21 inches. In the video, 25 Mokobara cabin bags can be seen being unloaded from the SUV! That’s definitely impressive.
The Sierra.EV has the same boot capacity as the internal combustion Sierra- 622 litres measured to the roof. However, it can be expanded to 1,257 litres by folding the second row completely. This is what has been done in this video. 25 bags would mean around 1000 litres of storage.

Tata Motors launched the new Sierra in November 2025. The production team did a great job with the filming, CGI, edits, colouring and everything in between. The Sierra’s petrol and diesel trims have been on sale for over 6 months now. Tata Motors has shipped over 30,000 units of the Sierra to customers across the country, and deliveries of the latest Sierra in town – the EV – have commenced. Tata Motors expects about 30 % of total sales to come from the electric variant, which is not just the fastest, most powerful and costliest version of the SUV but also the most feature rich and advanced.
