Tata Sierra.EV Might Be The Ultimate Enthusiast Electric SUV: Reasons
The video showing the Tata Sierra.ev taking on the Tal Moreeb sand dune has revealed a few very important details about the Sierra.ev. In this video, it has been mentioned that the Sierra.ev is the only stock electric SUV which has been able to successfully climb this sand dune. During the video, it has also been mentioned that this SUV will come with 500 Nm of torque.
This means that the Sierra.ev will offer the same exact dual-motor setup as the Tata Harrier.ev. In the Harrier.ev, the front electric motor makes 158 PS and the rear electric motor makes 238 PS. When combined, this EV SUV makes 396 PS of power. As a result, the Sierra.ev will also make the same amount of power.
As a result of this, the Sierra.ev will become the highest-performance electric SUV in the mid-size segment. What is also shown in the video is the QWD or Quad Wheel Drive badge on the rear quarter panel. It will be the same all-wheel-drive system as the Harrier.ev and will be offered with different terrain modes, including Normal, Rock, Crawl, Mud, Ruts, Snow, Grass, and Sand.

Additionally, the most recent video has showcased that the Sierra.ev will be offered with the Boost Mode button on the dashboard. This is the same as the Harrier.ev, and the upcoming Sierra.ev will most likely also offer City, Eco, and Sport driving modes as well. Coming to the standard single-motor variant of the Sierra.ev, it will get a rear-wheel-drive motor which will make 238 PS and 315 Nm of torque.
Tata Motors is expected to offer the same 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery pack options as the Harrier.ev. The smaller battery could offer 538 km, and the larger battery pack could offer 627 km of range. However, there are speculations that, as the Sierra.ev will be lighter than the Harrier.ev, its range figures could be slightly higher.

Overall, the upcoming Sierra.ev will be an extremely fun-to-drive electric vehicle. This is because the Harrier.ev, despite being bigger and bulkier, offers a punchy driving experience with all the power that it makes. So, considering the same powertrain will be offered in the lighter Sierra.ev, it will make it an electric SUV that will be loved by enthusiasts across India.

From the videos shared by Tata Motors, it can be noted that the Sierra.ev will look almost the same as the standard ICE Sierra. The only differences will be at the front, where it will not get Sierra lettering below the DRL light bar, and it will also get a larger black portion on the fascia. Additionally, the SUV will get Sierra.ev badging on the front doors and rear. The rest of the side profile, 19-inch alloy wheels, rear-end design, and everything else will remain the same.
What will also be the same will be the interior design and layout. The Sierra.ev is also expected to offer the same triple-screen layout as the standard model. This comprises a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 12.3-inch passenger display. It will also get a panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, and dual-zone climate control.

Apart from these, the electric SUV will also come loaded with a head-up display, a premium 12-speaker JBL audio system with Dolby Atmos support, a wireless charger, ambient lighting, rear sunshades, connected car technology, a powered tailgate, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. As for the safety features, it is expected to get six airbags as standard, along with electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and a Level 2 ADAS suite.

As mentioned above, the launch of the Sierra.ev will take place on June 30. It is believed that the Sierra.ev will be launched in the price range of Rs 18.5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. In the Tata Motors lineup, it will sit below the Harrier.ev and above the Currv.ev and will become the perfect mid-size SUV for enthusiasts.
