Tata Sierra.EV Officially Revealed Ahead Of 30th June Launch [Video]
One of the most awaited launches from Tata this year, after the Sierra, is the Sierra EV. We have been seeing multiple teaser videos and spy pictures of the SUV on the internet. The electric SUV will be launched in the market on 30th June, and before its official launch, Tata has now released an official video in which the SUV is completely unveiled.
Just like the Harrier EV, Tata is marketing the Sierra EV by showcasing its capabilities. It looks like the Sierra EV seen in the video is not being driven in India but somewhere in the UAE. The professional driver in the Sierra EV is seen dune-bashing with the SUV. In the video, we hear the driver say that no production electric vehicle has done this before, and that is why they are here.
It looks like Tata wants to repeat the Harrier EV strategy by driving the Sierra EV on rough or challenging terrain. In the case of the Harrier EV, it was Elephant Rock, and this time it is the sand dunes. We are sure we will come to know more details about this stunt in the coming weeks.
In the video, we hear the words Tal Moreeb, which is one of the world’s tallest sand dunes, located on the remote southern edge of the Liwa Oasis in the Rub’ al Khali Desert of Abu Dhabi, UAE. This particular dune is 300 metres high with a dramatic 50-degree incline, making it a premier destination for off-roading and motorsport enthusiasts. It looks like the Sierra EV was driven over this dune as part of the promotional stunt.
In the video, we can clearly see the exterior of the Sierra EV. It gets sleek LED DRLs with a connected light bar running across the width of the vehicle. The headlamps are positioned on the bumper, just like on the regular Sierra. However, the grille on the EV is completely closed, and we see a large Tata logo in the middle. The lower part of the bumper gets a faux skid plate, and we can also spot the front parking sensors and camera.
The alloy wheel design on the Sierra EV looks similar to that of the ICE version. The only noticeable difference is the addition of aerodynamic inserts. At the rear, the SUV continues to feature sleek LED tail lamps and an almost vertical tailgate.

We also get a glimpse of the cabin, where we can see a portion of the triple-screen display, a panoramic sunroof, and the two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. The SUV will come with a revised cabin design that is better suited to an EV. It is expected to offer features such as electrically adjustable seats, seat ventilation, automatic climate control, a 360-degree camera, leatherette upholstery, rear AC vents, an under-thigh support extender, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
The SUV is expected to be offered with the same 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs as the Harrier EV. Just like its bigger sibling, the Sierra EV is also expected to be offered with RWD and QWD options. Tata will launch the Sierra EV on June 30, and we expect it to be priced aggressively, just like its other products.
