Technology News : Apple reported record revenue of $114.5 billion in the September 2026 quarter, up 12% from the same period last year. Strong iPhone sales, record revenue from its services business and rising demand for Mac computers contributed significantly to this growth. Apple ended the fiscal year with total annual revenue of approximately $479 billion. The iPhone has been the company’s biggest business. Apple earned $57.6 billion from iPhone sales in the September quarter, up 17% from the same quarter last year.
Announcing the quarterly results, CEO John Turner said that Apple achieved record revenue in several developed and emerging markets, including India, in the September quarter. The company also set a new record for the number of iPhone upgrades worldwide, including in markets such as the US, China and India. According to the company, this revenue was driven by increased demand for iPhone, Mac computers and services. Significantly, the number of consumers replacing their old iPhone with the new model in India has also increased rapidly.
Excellent demand for iPhone 18 Pro series
Apple’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Kevan Parekh said that the number of iPhones in use worldwide has reached an all-time high. He added that a significant number of consumers in India, America, China and Japan have ditched their old iPhones and bought new models. According to a recent Counterpoint Research report, initial sales of the iPhone 18 Pro series in India were around 20 percent higher than the iPhone 17 Pro series year-on-year. Demand for the iPhone 17 series also remains strong. However, due to rising costs of memory and other essential components, Apple is adjusting the prices of some of its products.
Apple lags behind Samsung in the smartphone market
Apple had an 8 percent share of the Indian smartphone market based on units sold in the September quarter, while Samsung held the top spot with a 17 percent share. However, Apple’s market share declined by 1% compared to the same quarter last year.
Revenue from make and services also increased
Apple has benefited not only from the iPhone in India, but also from Mac computers and services. Markets like India and Southeast Asia have seen double-digit growth in the Mac business, according to Kevan Parekh. Meanwhile, the company’s services revenue has reached an all-time high in several emerging markets, including India.
Additionally, Apple has launched Apple Pay in India in association with Axis Bank. According to John Turns, this service will provide a secure and easy payment option in a large market like India. With this, Apple Pay’s reach has expanded to more than 90 markets worldwide.
