While talking to the media at Patna Airport, he made the sharpest attack till date on Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. He directly challenged the government regarding police action on students, arrests during Bihar Bandh and the arrest of his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav. Tejashwi gave a deadline to the government to release the arrested students and withdraw the cases and warned that if this does not happen, there will be a big movement in Bihar.

Sharp attack on Samrat Sarkar at Patna Airport

After reaching Patna from Delhi, Tejashwi Yadav said that during the Bihar Bandh, students were lathicharged, they were sent to jail and attempts were made to suppress their voices. He alleged that the government was using the police to crush the movement. Tejashwi made a personal attack on Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, calling him a “street gangbang” and a “criminal”. Also alleged that the present government is also turning the police into “goons”. However, there was no immediate reaction from the government on these allegations.

Ultimatum for release of students

Tejashwi Yadav said that all the students arrested during Bihar Bandh should be released immediately and the cases registered against them should be withdrawn. He said the government has time “till tomorrow”, otherwise a major agitation will be launched across the state. In response to a question on NEET paper leak issue, he said that it is the government that is the leaker. He claimed that there have been frequent incidents of paper leaks in Bihar and the government has failed to protect the future of the youth.

Tej Pratap Yadav’s arrest said wrong

Tejashwi Yadav also termed the arrest of his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav as wrong. He said that registering a case against students under serious sections and sending them to jail for protesting in support of students is against the democratic system. Tej Pratap Yadav was arrested for alleged violence, vandalism and arson during the Bihar bandh. Police say that their role is being investigated on the basis of CCTV footage and other evidence, while Tejashwi alleges that action is being taken to suppress the voice of the opposition.

‘Dictatorship will not work’, warns movement

Tejashwi Yadav claimed that many opposition MLAs were also detained during the Bihar bandh. He said that the government is suppressing democratic rights by taking action against students and opposition leaders. He warned that if the arrested students were not released and the cases were not withdrawn, RJD and the opposition would take the path of a massive mass movement. After this statement of Tejashwi, the issue of student movement and arrest of Tej Pratap Yadav has become the center of new conflict between power and opposition in the politics of Bihar.
