Tesla Roadster Booking : Automobile desk: Global company Tesla, which is leading in the world of electric vehicles, has opened advance booking of its very popular sports car 'Roadster' in the Indian market. This car was being awaited for a long time among vehicle lovers. According to the company's roadmap, commercial production of this high-performance electric car will be started in the year 2028. This booking process has been made live for Indian customers from 17 October 2026, under which initial slots can be booked in select markets as well as in the country.
If we talk about the booking process of the Roadster and its expenses, the company has not yet officially disclosed the final price of this supercar. However, to reserve its performance variant, a token amount of Rs 5.01 lakh has to be deposited on the official portal. According to the rules, the customer will have to pay an additional amount of Rs 45,05,000 within the next 10 days of booking. Thus, the total reservation cost of its Performance variant comes to approximately Rs 50.06 lakh. The company has also clarified that in the initial phase this model will be launched only in left-hand-drive configuration. Its proper operation and sale on the roads of India will be finalized on the basis of local motor vehicle rules and laws.
According to the information given by Tesla, the outer look and aerodynamics of the Roadster have been inspired by the design of the famous SR-71 military aircraft and F-35 fighter jet. The company claims that its driving dynamics and speed will leave all its previous plaid models behind. Special components related to SpaceX have also been used in it, which will provide a completely different and exciting driving experience to the user. However, its full technical sheet has not been made public yet.
Apart from the Roadster, Tesla has also given a big surprise with its large six-seat electric SUV 'Model Y L'. The company has announced to provide free complimentary 'Acceleration Boost' with this vehicle. After the addition of this software upgrade, this large SUV becomes capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.5 seconds.
Talking about range and battery capacity, as per WLTP testing standards, Model YL claims to offer an excellent driving range of up to 681 kilometers in a single full charge. However, it may vary slightly depending on actual driving conditions, weather and road conditions.
If we look at their prices and finance options in the Indian market, the starting price of the standard Model Y has been fixed at Rs 50.89 lakh, while the starting price of the larger six-seater Model YL is Rs 61.99 lakh. For the convenience of customers, the company has also provided easy loan and EMI options. Model These figures are based on the assumption of a step-up plan with a tenure of seven years and an interest rate of 8.5 percent.
Apart from this, Tesla is working rapidly to strengthen its charging infrastructure across the country. Currently, 20 Supercharger stalls and 28 destination chargers are functioning smoothly in different parts of India. The company plans to start charging points at three more new locations by the end of this year. Besides, home charging facility is also being provided in 23 states.
