A horrific incident took place in Thailand’s capital Bangkok on Thursday morning when a crazy ninth grade student first allegedly killed his grandparents and then reached the school and opened fire indiscriminately killing at least five teachers. At least 15 people were injured in this attack while the student also shot himself to death. Thailand’s Public Health Minister said that these two elderly people were found dead in their home .
Thailand’s Health Ministry said the 14-year-old ninth-grade student first shot and killed his grandparents and then went to the Nonthaburi branch of the Debsirin School in Thailand’s Nonthaburi province, killing five teachers. The ministry said the teen then took his own life, the BBC reported.
Police said the 9mm handgun used by the teenager belonged to his grandfather, a teacher. They also said the shooting was reported just after 10:00 a.m. local time (03:00 GMT).
Preliminary reports from Thailand’s leading rescue group, the Poh Teck Tung Foundation, said seven people were killed and 15 injured, one of them seriously. The foundation said in a statement that authorities immediately evacuated students from the school premises.
The attacking student committed suicide
The shooting occurred at Debsirin Nonthaburi School, a well-known secondary school with about 3,000 students, located on a busy highway in Bang Kruai district, Nonthaburi province, north of Bangkok. The suspected attacker then took his own life, said Nonthaburi provincial police commander Lieutenant Colonel Decharapee Kongdee.
