Thailand Open 2026: Satwik-Chirag pair missed the title, Martin-Carnando lost 21-12, 25-23

New Delhi. India’s star men’s doubles badminton pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty missed out on winning the Thailand Open 2026 title. In the final match, the Indonesian pair of Daniel Martin and Leo Carnando won the trophy by defeating the Indian pair 21-12, 25-23.

Indian pair looked under complete pressure in the first game

From the beginning of the match, the Indonesian pair played aggressively. Satwik and Chirag could not find the rhythm and were seen making continuous mistakes in the first game. Taking advantage of this, Martin and Carnando won the first game by just 21-12.

Strong comeback in the second game

After losing the first game, the Indian pair made a brilliant comeback in the second game. Satwik and Chirag made the match exciting through fast smashes and better net play. Long rallies and spectacular shots were seen between both the pairs. The second game was very close and a fight till the end. However, in the moments of pressure, the Indonesian players maintained their composure and ended the match by winning the game 25–23.

A brilliant campaign got a runner-up finish

Although the Indian pair could not win the title, their performance throughout the tournament was excellent. Satwik and Chirag showed consistent performance and reached the finals and once again proved that they are among the best men’s doubles pairs in the world.
