Dubai. The Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 will be held in Dubai from August 28 to September 13. The Indian women’s team will face Pakistan on September 5 in the biggest challenge of their campaign. Eight teams will participate in the tournament. After the group stage, the top two teams will advance to the semi-finals, with the final scheduled for September 13.
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) released the tournament schedule on Thursday (August 6). This time, cricket fans will be most focused on September 5, when the Indian and Pakistani women’s teams will face each other at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
The eight-team tournament will begin on August 28 and run until September 13. The opening match will be played between Hong Kong and Thailand in Group A.
India is placed in Group A with Pakistan, Thailand, Hong Kong, and China. Group B, on the other hand, includes defending champions Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, hosts UAE, and Indonesia.
The tournament will be played in a T20 format. All teams in both groups will play one match against each other. The top two teams from each group will then advance to the semi-finals.
The first semi-final will be played on September 10th between the top team from Group A and the second-placed team from Group B. The second semi-final will be played on September 11th between the second-placed team from Group A and the top-placed team from Group B. The final will be held on September 13th.
The biggest match in Group B will be played on September 6th between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The UAE and Indonesia are also part of this group. Sri Lanka will enter the tournament as the defending champions, while Bangladesh won the Women’s Asia Cup title in 2018.
India is the most successful team in the history of the Women’s Asia Cup. The Indian team has won seven times so far. These include four titles won in the ODI format in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2008, while India won the trophy in the T20 format in 2012, 2016 and 2022.
