Shubhendu Adhikari, who became the Chief Minister of the state after registering a landslide victory in the West Bengal Assembly elections 2026, is now seen in full action mode. Subhendu Adhikari, who reached his political bastion Nandigram on Sunday for the first time after assuming the post of Chief Minister, has given a strong message to the opposition. While addressing the crowd gathered in Nandigram, Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari showed emotional and strong attitude. Without taking the name of Trinamool Congress (TMC), he said that BJP has maintained the complete record of every atrocities committed against its workers. After the 2021 assembly elections, the way the houses of our workers were demolished and many innocent supporters were killed, a full account of all that has been kept. Now the time has come that every victim’s family should be provided justice within the ambit of law.

During this time, Shubhendu Adhikari, known for his aggressive style, also taught the workers to remain within decorum. He said, “If you want, you can even pull bricks from the houses of opposition party workers, but we do not have to do this at all. BJP does not promote this kind of violent politics and feeling of revenge.” Becoming emotional, the Chief Minister said that many people had lost their lives because of seeking votes for him. He will never forget this debt to the people of Nandigram and will take full revenge for it legally.

Going to Bhawanipur will not break the connection with Nandigram, called it my ‘home’

In this historic election of 2026, Shubhendu Adhikari had contested from both the high-profile seats of Nandigram and Bhawanipur and had registered a resounding victory at both the places. After becoming the Chief Minister, he vacated the Nandigram seat as per constitutional rules, due to which there was some disappointment among his supporters. Allaying this concern, the CM said that Nandigram is not just a constituency, but his home and the birthplace of his political rise. The relationship that has been built with the people here since the days of struggle in 2003 will remain equally strong even after going to Bhawanipur.

Command of Nandigram handed over to younger brother Somendu Adhikari

Due to assuming the responsibility of entire West Bengal, Subhendu Adhikari has taken a big decision to serve the people of Nandigram. He announced from the stage that his younger brother Somendu Adhikari will now look after the affairs of Nandigram. The Chief Minister said, “At present, there is a huge pressure on me to run the government of the entire state. Therefore, I have given this special responsibility to Somendu Adhikari. Five other MLAs of the area will fully assist him in every matter related to Panchayat, local administration and public service in Nandigram.”
