A case of suspicious death of Defense Ministry's Assistant Section Officer Nazia Khanum has come to light in Dwarka area of Delhi. Nazia was three months pregnant and it had been about four months since her marriage. The police have registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code. The husband has told the police that there was a dispute before the incident. The family has accused the in-laws of mental-physical torture, domestic violence and murder.

Nazia Khanum, posted in the Defense Ministry, was married to Azam Ali Khan on 11 April 2026. But within a few months of marriage, her family started receiving complaints of alleged harassment at her in-laws' house. Nazia was three months pregnant.
The family members claim that the woman used to continuously inform them through phone calls about the alleged torture taking place in her in-laws' house. It is alleged that he was abused and beaten and he was also threatened with being thrown out of the house and killed. Whereas Nazia was married to Azam Ali Khan according to Muslim customs.
In its complaint, the family has expressed doubts over Nazia's death and alleged that she may have been forced to commit suicide by continuous mental and physical torture. In such a situation, his death has raised many questions.
On the other hand, the husband told the police that there was an argument between the two before the incident. Nazia's father-in-law called the family at around 4 am on August 21 and informed them about her death. Nazia's body was found hanging from a fan in a flat in Bharatal village.
