‘The complaint is justified but the path is wrong’, Yogendra Yadav’s reaction on Raghav Chadha leaving the party

The political temperature in the country has risen after the major split in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and many MPs including Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This step of Raghav Chadha is now drawing sharp reactions from opposition leaders and political analysts. In this sequence, social activist and Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav has given his opinion on this entire incident. He has described Raghav’s decision as more of a threat to the democratic structure than a personal problem.

Raghav’s complaint is legitimate, but the method is wrong Political analyst Yogendra Yadav said that what has happened today is not just a simple case of some people feeling mistreated or leaving the party due to resentment. Referring to Raghav Chadha, he said, “Raghav Chadha’s complaint against his own party may be legitimate, but we should not forget that 100 other people may also have complaints against him.” Yadav believes that such defection on the basis of personal resentment is against constitutional morality.

Attack on the spirit of democracy and constitution Yogendra Yadav described this incident as an attack on the soul of the Anti-Defection Law. He said that the way the MPs have switched sides is not only against the spirit of the Constitution, but it also weakens the basic roots of our democracy. He raised the question that if the leaders had so many problems with the party, then why did they not show the courage to contest the elections afresh? Simply joining another ruling party does not bode well for democracy.

AAP has become ‘a place built for the sake of power’ Taking aim at Aam Aadmi Party, Yogendra Yadav said that he no longer has any sympathy for AAP. He revealed that he never talked to these colleagues (rebel MPs) nor did he ever defend the Aam Aadmi Party. Launching a scathing attack, Yadav said that Arvind Kejriwal’s party has now turned into a place where people come only for the sake of power and selfishness. He said that when ideals are lost within the party, similar results emerge.

Concern over one nation, one party model Targeting Raghav Chadha, he asked that how was this defection possible even after getting everything? He also expressed concern over the growing influence of the central government and the BJP. Yogendra Yadav said that today the model of ‘one nation, one election, one party and one leader’ is being imposed on the country. It is noteworthy that Raghav Chadha has left Aam Aadmi Party along with two-thirds of the Rajya Sabha MPs, due to which the existence of ‘AAP’ in the Rajya Sabha is in danger.
