Congress wrote a letter to PM Modi demanding an all-party meeting, said – will raise the issue of theft of offerings in the monsoon session, will oppose the amendment bill.

New Delhi. The Congress Party has geared up for the Monsoon Session starting on July 20. The party has talked about raising the issue of theft of Ram temple offerings and mixing of ethanol in petrol. Apart from this, the government will oppose the amendment bills.

This decision has been taken in the Congress Parliamentary Party meeting on Thursday. Mallikarjun Kharge has written a letter to PM Modi regarding the 131st Constitutional Amendment Bill i.e. the bill related to delimitation. In this, a demand has been made to call an all-party meeting on the revised proposals of the government. The meeting took place at Sonia Gandhi’s residence. Many leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge, Shashi Tharoor and Jairam Ramesh participated in it. After the meeting, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh held a press conference.

Jairam Ramesh said that the party will strongly oppose the major bills that the government is preparing to bring in the upcoming monsoon session of Parliament. He further said, ‘There are many issues which we will specifically raise. Like theft of donations and betrayal. New revelations are being made every day regarding Prabhu Shri Ram Temple.

He said that we will definitely raise the issue of the scam created by BJP and RSS in Ayodhya. There are also issues like NEET and E20 scam, in which several senior BJP leaders and their sons are involved. We had made our stand clear on April 16 and 17 regarding reservation of one-third seats for women in the current Lok Sabha. The Nari Shakti Vandan Act, 2023 includes the provision of this one-third reservation for women.

Jairam Ramesh said that the Constitution Amendment Bill related to the removal of judges was also discussed in the meeting. A Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) has been formed to examine this bill, but the opposition parties have boycotted it. Congress will also strongly oppose this bill.

He said that if the government brings ‘Developed India Education Foundation Bill’ in the monsoon session, Congress will completely oppose it. The Congress leader also said that the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) Amendment Bill could be brought again. Jairam Ramesh said that Congress had earlier also opposed this bill, after which the government had to withdraw it. If it is presented again, the party will oppose it again.
