The death penalty in Iran for the crime of religious insult to twenty-three young women! 'Remember', says Amini

He is 23 years old. Accounting student. A bright future lay ahead. But the punctuation mark is going to come down suddenly in that life. The court sentenced the young woman named Nazme Amini to death. His crime is that he committed religious blasphemy. He was sentenced to over 12 years in prison and death sentence in two separate cases in the criminal court. Iranian law says insulting religion is punishable by death. And according to that law, I am not in the face of death.

According to human rights organization sources, he is a resident of Mashhad, Iran. In an audio message from the jail, he said that he was sentenced to death on September 16. But this verdict is not yet final. Amini is likely to appeal to Iran's Supreme Court to have the sentence commuted. If there is no response then the date of execution will be final.

Iran's security forces arrested Amini on January 31. At that time, protests against the extremists started across the country. Amini has been accused of posting religious insults on social media. After his arrest, he was imprisoned in the notorious Vakilabad Jail of Mashhad. It is claimed that Amini had to be subjected to continuous brutal physical torture. It is known that he was imprisoned in a solitary cell for about three months. It is claimed that the fundamental rights of the prisoners have not been protected. It should be said that more than 50,000 citizens were arrested in the movement against the extremists in Iran. At least 7 thousand people were killed. The same is the demand of human rights organizations. Around which the long-standing allegations of torture of prisoners in Iran have shed new light.

Several charges were brought against Amini. Which includes rebellion against God, denial of the Supreme Leader, communication with the enemy country Israel. However, Amini claims that he did this while intoxicated after eating 'psychedelic mushrooms' with friends. But the court finally sentenced him to death.

“I don't want to present myself as a hero today,” Amini said in an audio message announcing the sentencing. All I want is for you to be my voice. I am an innocent young girl with many hopes and dreams. My parents are waiting for me. A family who spends sleepless nights every night in fear of losing me.”
