The investigation of Twisha Sharma death case has now been handed over to CBI, the family had raised questions on the investigation of Bhopal Police.
The investigation into the famous Twisha Sharma suspicious death case has now been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). According to the notification issued by the Madhya Pradesh Home Department, the CBI will now investigate the death of Twisha Sharma, which took place at her house in Katara Hills on May 12, 2026. In this case, the family was continuously raising questions on the investigation of Bhopal Police and demanding a fair investigation.
Twisha Sharma’s father and brother had already demanded a CBI investigation into the case. The family alleged that the local police was covering up the case and fair action was not being taken due to pressure from influential people. Twisha’s brother Ashish Sharma had said that the police investigation is not satisfactory and the main accused husband Samarth Singh is still out of arrest.
A case was registered in Katara Hills police station under various sections of the Indian Justice Code and Dowry Prohibition Act 1961. Now under Section 6 of the Delhi Special Police Establishment Act 1946, CBI has been given the right to investigate in the entire Madhya Pradesh.
The biggest question of the case remains regarding Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh, who is absconding even after several days of the incident. Bhopal Police has announced a reward of Rs 30 thousand on him. According to the police, a lookout notice has been issued against him and his bank accounts and passport are being checked.
At the same time, questions are also being raised about the role of Twisha’s mother-in-law and retired judge Giribala Singh. The family alleges that she is still living in the same house where the incident took place and the police have not yet formally interrogated her. The family has also expressed apprehension of evidence being tampered with. However, the police say that they have been issued a notice.
Questions are also being raised regarding the delay in the investigation process. According to the family, the belt used for allegedly hanging was sent for forensic examination two days after the incident. The court had given instructions to preserve the body at a temperature of -80 degrees, but till now such arrangements have not been made.
Now after the start of CBI investigation, many important revelations are being expected in this high-profile case. The family hopes that the investigation by the central agency will reveal all the secrets related to Twisha Sharma’s death and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
