Education Ministry clarified: The fire did not break out in the Ministry’s office, but in the SPA premises.

New Delhi. The Ministry has issued an official clarification on the news spread regarding the fire incident related to the Ministry of Education in the capital. It was claimed in media reports that the fire broke out in the office of the Education Ministry, on which the Ministry has clarified the situation. In a statement issued by the Education Ministry, it has been said that the information that the fire broke out in the office of the Ministry is wrong. The Ministry clarified that its office is located at Dutva Bhawan-2, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi. According to the statement, the fire incident occurred in an office located at the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA) campus, which falls at 4-Block B, Indraprastha Estate, Vikas Marg (ITO), New Delhi-110002. The ministry said that the fire incident has no connection with the main office of the Education Ministry, nor has any building of the ministry been damaged.

In a statement issued by the ministry, it has been said that in some media reports it was wrongly claimed that the fire broke out in the office of the Ministry of Education, whereas the main office of the ministry is located at Dutva Bhawan-2, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi. The statement clarified that the fire incident occurred in a part of the SPA complex and has no connection with the main office of the ministry. The ministry said that this clarification is being issued so that any kind of misinformation or confusion regarding the incident does not spread.

Congress cornered the government

Expressing concern over this incident, Congress has launched a scathing attack on the Central Government. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, reacting on the social media platform ‘X’, said that the fire incident in the Education Ministry may be at the administrative level, but the country’s education system is being affected by a “real fire”. He alleged that the BJP government has turned the education sector into a “loot business through paper leak mafias” and even CBSE students are now facing its consequences. Congress General Secretary (Communication) Jairam Ramesh also reacted to this incident and said that this matter is a matter of serious concern. He wrote in a social media post that the news of fire in the office of the Education Ministry is worrying and “disturbing”.

Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party leader Manish Sisodia has reacted on social media expressing concern over this incident. He said that the incident of fire has come to light at the same place where the alleged cases related to NEET paper leak and allegations of irregularities in CBSE answer sheets are reported. Sisodia alleged that “attempts are being made to destroy evidence related to cases that are playing with the future of lakhs of children”. He also said that this incident should be thoroughly investigated so that the truth can come out.

According to Delhi Fire Service, they received an emergency call about the fire at around 9:37 am. After this, 8 fire tenders were immediately sent to the spot. Firefighters acted quickly and controlled the fire. Officials have not yet disclosed the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, the Education Ministry has clarified that the fire did not break out in its main office, but the incident took place in a part of the SPA campus. The ministry said that the fire was minor and was brought under control in time. There is no information about any loss of life or property in the incident.
