Automobile Desk: German automobile manufacturer Audi is fully prepared to launch the next-generation model of its popular luxury SUV Q3 in the Indian automobile market. The company will officially introduce this new car on 16 October 2026. Its India-spec model has been unveiled in August 2026 itself. To strengthen its hold in the luxury segment, Audi is going to start its new generation vehicles in India with this model.
According to the information, this new model will replace the existing Q3 that has been running on Indian roads for the last four years. Audi will manufacture this premium car by assembling it locally. Enthusiasm about this vehicle is being seen among the Indian customers and its official booking has also been started. Not only has the external look changed in the new generation model, but large-scale changes have also been made in its powertrain, interior cabin and features.
If we talk about engine and performance, this time the company has decided to completely remove the diesel variant. The new Audi Q3 will be available for sale only with turbo-petrol engines. There is every possibility of getting a turbocharged petrol engine with 2.0-litre capacity. Although the company has not yet made public the official power figures of the model to be launched in India, it is still being speculated that this engine will be capable of producing a maximum power of 204 horsepower and a torque of 320 Newton-meters.
For transmission, this engine can be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DCT) gearbox. The most important thing is that this vehicle is expected to include Audi's famous 'Quattro' all-wheel-drive technology as a standard feature. This simply means that the power from the engine will reach all four wheels of the car equally as per the requirement, which will improve both the grip and control of the car on the road.
Visually, this new SUV looks much more sporty and aggressive than the old generation. To give a new look to its front profile, split headlamp setup and signature DRLs with customizable patterns have been provided. On the side of the car, body-coloured cladding, chrome accented window beltline and new 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels are seen. At the rear, the new split tail-light cluster, rear spoiler and illuminated Audi logo that shines at night give it a very attractive look.
As soon as you step inside the car, you can see a completely new and high-tech cabin. The dashboard now features a dual-screen layout for the driver display and main infotainment system. The company has shifted the gear selector from the center console to the steering column, which provides more space between the front seats. Also, it has been given a new 4-spoke steering wheel.
The list of features is also quite long. To make the cabin premium, it has been provided with modern features like premium Sonos sound system, large panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, dual-zone automatic climate control and 360-degree view camera to help in parking.
If we look at the price front, its price is sure to increase due to new changes and upgrades. Currently, the current Audi Q3 sells between Rs 43.67 lakh to Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. It is estimated that the starting price of the new generation Q3 could be around Rs 55 lakh, while the ex-showroom price of its top-end variant could go up to Rs 60 lakh. After entering the market, this premium SUV will have direct competition with giants like BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA and Mini Countryman C.
