Automobile Desk – KTM, the famous vehicle manufacturer for premium and sports bikes in the Indian automobile market, has officially announced an increase in the prices of its popular 390 Duke range. The company has increased the prices of different variants of this entire series by up to ₹7,000. It is worth noting that this change in the prices of the bikes has been implemented just a day after the increase in the prices of the KTM 390 Adventure range. This price revision has directly affected both the standard KTM 390 Duke and the more powerful KTM 390 Duke R available for sale in the Indian market.
Looking at the new ex-showroom prices of the vehicles after the price revision, the standard KTM 390 Duke, equipped with a 349.32cc engine, is now priced at ₹2.84 lakh. Previously, the model was available in Indian showrooms at a starting price of ₹2.77 lakh. This means the company has increased the price of the base variant by a total of ₹7,000. Meanwhile, the price of the more powerful and capable KTM 390 Duke R model has increased from ₹3.39 lakh to ₹3.45 lakh ex-showroom. This high-end model has seen a total price increase of ₹6,000. An interesting aspect of this price change is that the price difference between the two bikes has now narrowed slightly compared to before. While earlier there was a price difference of ₹62,000 between the two models, now this gap has narrowed to ₹61,000.
According to auto experts and industry sources, the company has made this decision to address rising input costs and production costs. Most importantly, despite the price hike, the manufacturer hasn’t made any changes to the bikes’ mechanical setup, design, or key features. This means customers will now have to pay extra for a vehicle package with the same technology and features.
In terms of technology and engine capacity, the standard KTM 390 Duke is powered by a 349.32cc single-cylinder engine. This engine is capable of generating a maximum power of 41.5 PS and a peak torque of 33.5 Nm. The more powerful model in the series, the KTM 390 Duke R, is powered by a larger 398.63cc engine that produces a maximum power of 46 PS and a peak torque of 39 Nm. To ensure a smooth riding experience, both powerful bikes come standard with a 6-speed gearbox.
Both models compete head-to-head in terms of rider safety and modern technology. Both vehicles offer a comprehensive package of advanced riding features, including Motorcycle Traction Control (MTC), Cornering ABS, Supermoto ABS, Launch Control, Ride-by-Wire throttle technology, and multiple riding modes such as Street and Rain. Digital features include a 5-inch TFT color screen that supports the Track Screen display layout. Furthermore, both bikes feature advanced features like Type-C charging ports for easy charging of electronic devices while traveling.
