In today's time, losing weight has become a big struggle for every other person. In the desire to look slim and fit, people often adopt shortcuts suggested on the internet, sweat for hours in the gym and the most common method people choose is to starve themselves or suddenly reduce their calorie intake. But even after being hungry for several weeks and eating only salad or boiled things, when the weight remains the same, it is natural to feel disappointed. The question arises that when the body is not getting enough energy or food, then why is the fat not melting? There is no single reason behind not losing weight, rather our metabolism, hormonal imbalance, lack of sleep and survival mechanisms of the body are directly responsible for it. When you do excessive crash dieting, instead of getting any benefit, your body starts becoming weak from inside and instead of losing weight, it becomes more stubborn. Slowing down of metabolism: When the body starts storing fat to save energy while being hungry, the biggest and scientific reason for not losing weight while being hungry is 'Metabolic Slowdown'. It is a natural quality of our body that when we do not eat anything for a long time or eat very little, the body feels that some famine or crisis has come. In this situation, our brain and body stops spending energy (Calories) to save itself and the metabolic rate slows down significantly. That means your body learns to survive on minimum calories and starts storing the little amount you eat as fat. This state is called 'Starvation Mode'. This is why the more you starve yourself, the slower your body will burn calories and your weight will get stuck instead of losing. Hormonal imbalance, stress and lack of sleep also stop the weight loss process. Just reducing food intake is not a guarantee of weight loss, because our hormones play a big role in this. When you are constantly hungry and under mental stress, the level of stress hormone called 'Cortisol' increases greatly in the body. Increased cortisol hormone is directly responsible for accumulation of stubborn belly fat around the abdomen. Apart from this, the balance of hunger controlling hormone 'Ghrelin' and the hormone 'Leptin' which makes one feel full also gets disturbed, due to which uncontrolled hunger starts again and again. Also, if you are not getting full and deep sleep at night, your body starts breaking down muscles instead of burning fat, leading to weakness and fatigue in the name of weight loss. Adopt the right way: Leave crash dieting and adopt a balanced diet and right lifestyle. If you really want to lose weight in a healthy way without being hungry, then you will have to leave the path of crash dieting forever. Instead, you have to understand the scientific rule of 'Calorie Deficit', in which food is consumed only 300 to 500 calories less than the body's requirement, rather than stopping eating completely. Increase the amount of protein, healthy fats, fiber and green vegetables in your diet so that metabolism always remains active. Drink adequate amount of water throughout the day, get at least 7 to 8 hours of good sleep daily and include strength training (weight training) in your daily routine along with cardio. When you give your body the right nutrition and love instead of starving it, your metabolism will work faster and you will lose weight naturally and permanently.
