Restrictions on movement during voting in the state! The Election Commission ordered the tourists to leave the tourist places like Digha, Mandarmani, Tajpur and return by Tuesday afternoon. A notification has been issued in this regard. It clearly mentions that no outside political leader-activist can stay in the popular tourist centers including Digha. This rule will remain in force until the end of the first round of elections. Based on that, the hotels have also informed that no outsider can stay in the hotels, guest houses there from the afternoon of 21st to 23rd.

It has been informed that from 6 PM on Tuesday, April 23, until the first phase of assembly elections are over, no resident of the district can stay in hotels in tourist spots including Digha, Mandarmani. No campaigner of any political party will be allowed to stay. Violation of the rules will constitute an offense punishable under Section 223 of the Indian Penal Code, 2023.
After this notification was issued by the commission, a campaign on the mic was started from Digha, Digha Mohana and Mandarmani Coast Police Stations from Monday night. Tourists are asked to leave these places by 5 pm. According to the commission sources, the tourists have been asked to go back fearing that if outsiders enter the district under the guise of tourists and incite unrest. Besides, this order of the commission is also said to maintain peace and order in the area during the polling.
