The villagers of Sumrava (Sakaran Block) have written a letter to the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh demanding early construction of a concrete bridge on the Chauka River. The villagers allege that due to the absence of a bridge, everyday life, children’s education, health services and agricultural work are being badly affected. Residents of dozens of nearby villages including Sumrava, Hajipur, Ghasipur, Adwari, Karehka Unchagaon said in a joint application that there is no permanent bridge to connect these villages situated on both banks of the Chauka river. Especially during monsoon, due to increase in the water level of the river, communication gets completely lost and crossing it by boat poses a risk to life.
The main problems mentioned in the application are:
Great difficulty in transportation, especially for school children and the elderly.
There is a constant risk of accidents while crossing the river during the rainy season. Farmers face difficulty in carrying their crops across the river, which is affecting the local economy.
on demand letter Deepak Kumar, Sabir Khan, Lavkush, Umesh Patel, Sarjan Giri, Anurag Pandey, Anwar, Ranjit Nirmal, Rinku Including the signatures of many villagers. He has requested the Chief Minister that keeping in mind the public interest, approval for the construction of a concrete bridge on the Chauka River should be given soon. Villagers have written that this bridge will prove to be a boon for thousands of residents of the area. Local people say that memorandums and demonstrations have been made several times in the past regarding this issue, but till now no concrete action has been taken. The lack of bridges on rivers in many areas of Sitapur district has been a hindrance in the path of development for a long time. If construction work is started soon, the socio-economic condition of the area is expected to improve.
