It should be noted that passport index is created based on how many countries in the world can be accessed using a passport of a particular country. This index is updated whenever visa policy changes. The new list has been released on that basis. The list was published judging 227 countries and territories over the past 19 years. This passport ranking is seen by many as an indicator of the success of the government's foreign policy. And the United Arab Emirates tops the new list. Their 'Mobility Score' is 181. Citizens of these countries do not need a passport to visit 138 of these countries. In addition, visas are available upon arrival in 43 countries. But for 17 countries, you have to apply for a visa in advance.
Looking at that place, India's position is 73. New Delhi is in the same position with countries like Zimbabwe, Uganda, Vietnam etc. Indians can visit 25 countries without visa. Visa is available on arrival in 39 countries. Besides, ETA, i.e. digital visa, is available for five more countries. Overall 'Mobility Score' is 69. 129 countries require visa application in advance. However, after India's position in various passport rankings came under renewed scrutiny recently, the Indian government objected to these rankings. In a written reply to the Lok Sabha on July 31, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirtivardhan Singh said, “The government is aware of certain rankings or lists published by some private organizations based on criteria determined by their own discretion.”
Afghanistan is at the bottom of the list. Citizens of that country can visit only 6 countries without visa. 29 more countries get visa. But you have to apply for a visa in advance in 163 countries.
