Due to the ongoing ED investigation against the Health Department and UPMSCL, ACS Amit Kumar Ghosh was arrested, Yogi government transferred 10 IAS officers.

Lucknow: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is under investigation into an alleged scam worth around ₹100 crore in the purchase of medicines and equipment for government hospitals in Uttar Pradesh. ED has sought records related to purchase and supply for the last 7 financial years (2019-20 to 2025-26) from the Health Department and Uttar Pradesh Medical Supply Corporation (UPMSCL). This investigation has been started by Vigilance on the basis of the arrest and FIR lodged by former MLA Mukesh Srivastava alias Gyanendra Pratap Srivastava. Many former Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), engineers and other officials of the health department have also come under the ambit of investigation.

The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday made a major reshuffle in the administrative staff and made many changes at the top level. According to the order issued by the government, 10 senior IAS officers of the level of Additional Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary have been transferred. With this reshuffle, the responsibilities of many important departments have been handed over to new officers.

In a major reshuffle, Amit Kumar Ghosh, who was till now holding the responsibility of Additional Chief Secretary Medical Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education, has been removed and appointed Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education. Further, Amrit Abhijat has been assigned the additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary Transport along with his present post.

According to the list, V. Hekali Jhimomi has been given the responsibility of Principal Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change as well as Principal Secretary, Medical Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education. Meanwhile, Mahendra Prasad Aggarwal has been transferred from Principal Secretary, Higher Education to Principal Secretary, Forest, Environment and Climate Change. Anil Kumar has been removed from the post of Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj and given the charge of Principal Secretary, Food and Logistics and Consumer Affairs. Dr. MKS Sundaram, Ravindra, Amit Gupta, Ranveer Prasad and Dr. Ashish Kumar Goyal have also been transferred and given the responsibility of new departments. This major administrative reshuffle of the government is being considered very important.
