At the same time Ranchi-Chopan express from Ranchi towards Chopan arrived at high speed. Purnima misjudged the speed of the train and the distance from herself and got hit by the train. Both her hands were severed in this accident. After the incident, there was chaos in the area. Her friends who were with her rushed her to Garhwa Sadar Hospital.
