There was an attempt to spread chaos in the country, PM Modi targets opposition on rumors amid Iran war

Banaskantha (Gujarat). Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a public meeting held in Banaskantha, Gujarat on Friday, targeted the opposition over the alleged propaganda spread in the country regarding the impact of the Iran war. He alleged that amid the uncertainty created by the international situation, some people tried to create an atmosphere of fear and chaos in the country by spreading rumors of shortage of fertilizers and cooking gas.

PM Modi said that farmers were harassed by raising the fear of not getting fertiliser, while anxiety was created among women and families by spreading the news of running out of cooking gas. According to him, the purpose of this entire exercise was to create an atmosphere of chaos in the country and damage the image of the government.

Claim of not letting the burden of fertilizer prices fall on farmers

The Prime Minister said that due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the prices of fertilizers have increased in the international market, but the government did not let the burden fall on Indian farmers. He claimed that a bag of fertilizer which is available for around Rs 3,000 in the world is being made available in India at a price of less than Rs 300. Giving the example of DAP fertilizer, he said that despite its price being more than Rs 5,000 in the international market, farmers in India are getting this bag for Rs 1,350.
