There will be big surprises in the new Baleno! From CNG-AMT to ADAS, the whole game will change

Tezzbuzz Desk- Maruti Suzuki is preparing to introduce its popular premium hatchback Baleno in a new avatar. According to reports, 2026 Maruti Baleno Facelift can be launched on 5 September 2026. There will not only be changes in the design in the new Baleno, but many major updates can also be seen in terms of engine, features, technology and safety. This is the reason why the new car may look quite different from the current model.

The biggest change of the new Baleno can be seen in its engine. According to reports, the company can provide the 1.2 liter Z12 3-cylinder petrol engine used in Swift. The current Baleno has a 4-cylinder engine. The new engine can be smaller in size and lighter in weight. This is expected to improve the mileage and driving performance of the car. Maruti Suzuki is also preparing to use this 1.2 liter 3-cylinder engine with hybrid technology in the future. In such a situation, the platform and powertrain of the new Baleno may also be ready for a strong hybrid option in the future. However, official information regarding the hybrid version has not been revealed yet.

Another feature of the new Baleno could be the CNG-AMT combination. If the company introduces this option, then it can become the first car of Maruti Suzuki in which AMT gearbox will be provided with CNG. The combination of better running cost of CNG and easy driving of AMT can prove to be attractive especially for the customers living in cities. Talking about the features, the new Baleno is expected to get a large touchscreen infotainment system. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay can be supported in it. Apart from this, features like wireless phone charging, ventilated front seat and new audio system can also be found. With these updates, the cabin of the car can become more premium than the current model.

The company can also make big changes on the safety front. Level 1 ADAS is likely to be provided in the top variants of the new Baleno. It may include features like Blind Spot Warning, Safe Exit Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Front parking sensor can also be available with it. If these features are available then Baleno can become a strong option in its segment in terms of technology and safety. Many changes can also be seen in the exterior design. New front grille, updated bumper and new designed headlamps can be given in the facelift model. The new LED element connecting the headlamp can also make the front look of the car different. New alloy wheels and new color options are also expected.

However, the possibility of major changes in the dimensions of the car is less. The length, width and height of the new Baleno may remain around the existing model. Talking about the price, the ex-showroom price of the current Baleno is between Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 9.47 lakh. There may be a slight increase in the price of the facelift due to the new engine and features. If CNG-AMT, ADAS, new engine and premium features are as expected, then the new Baleno may prove to be a much more attractive package for the customers compared to the current model. However, official information about its features, price and variants will be clear at the time of launch itself.
