There will be relief from jam in Arwal, 12.8 KM long bypass will be built at a cost of Rs 6 billion

Patna: People are soon going to get relief from the daily traffic jams in Arwal city. Greenfield bypass will be constructed to eliminate the traffic problem of the city. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways had approved the 12.8 km long bypass last year itself. This project will cost about Rs 6 billion. The bypass will pass through 20 mouzas and 756 plots of Sadar block.

A total of 55.874 hectares of land will be acquired for this. This bypass will start from Prasadi English Bazaar of NH 139 and will again join NH 139 near Pipra Bangla village via Motha village, east of the collectorate.

There is jam every day at Bhagat Singh Chowk.

The vehicular pressure on National Highway 139 is very high, due to which there is always a traffic jam in Arwal city. The condition is especially worst at Bhagat Singh Chowk, where NH 139 and NH 33 meet. There are long intermittent traffic jams here every day. Due to this, everyone from pedestrians to school children have to face problems. Many times the traffic police have to struggle even to get the ambulance out.

Shopkeepers will also get relief

Due to the jam, the business of the shopkeepers of the city is also affected. Customers are unable to reach the shops and the entire market remains stuck in traffic. After the bypass is built, big vehicles will be allowed to move out of the city. This will reduce the traffic load within the city significantly. The construction of the bypass will eliminate the problem of traffic jam not only in Arwal city but also in Umayrabad and Baidarabad. People will get relief from getting stuck in traffic for hours and transportation will become easier. The administration says that the construction work will be started rapidly as soon as the land acquisition process is completed.
