New Delhi. Liver is an important organ of our body, which not only purifies the blood, improves digestion but also helps in removing harmful elements from the body. But today’s hectic life, fried food from outside and irregular daily routine is gradually damaging our liver. World Liver Day is celebrated every year on 19 April to spread awareness about liver health. Experts say that some selected fruits and leaves prove to be very beneficial in keeping the liver healthy.

From Amla to Papaya, these fruits work like a boon for the liver. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, we can strengthen the liver by adopting Ayurvedic knowledge and mindful eating. On World Liver Day, the Ministry of AYUSH is advising people to take care of the liver through right diet and natural things. Experts suggest including these fruits and leaves in your daily diet. Eat fresh fruits, make juice and drink it or add it to salad. Also avoid fried, junk food and excessive alcohol. Regular exercise and good sleep are also important for liver health. Amla: Considered to be the greatest friend of the liver. It is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants which help in detoxifying the liver. Daily consumption of Amla or Amla juice keeps the liver healthy.

Papaya
It increases digestion power and is helpful in removing the toxins accumulated in the liver from the body. It is also helpful in reducing liver inflammation. Pomegranate: The antioxidants present in pomegranate juice protect the liver cells from damage and keep the blood pure. Grapes: Compounds present in grapes help detoxify the liver and reduce inflammation.

Both these fruits are rich in Vitamin C. Drinking lemon water in the morning on an empty stomach cleans the liver well. Along with fruits, leaves are also beneficial for the liver. These contain Makoy leaves, which provide relief from liver inflammation and related problems. In Ayurveda it is considered a liver tonic. Moringa leaves are rich in nutrients. These strengthen the liver and help in detoxifying the body.
